One thing I like is how the green lines on her chestplate grow longer and more jagged with each suit upgrade. Power suit: Small. Subtle. You barely even notice them. Varia suit: Much longer, reaching to the bottom of the plate, and looking like lightning bolts. Gravity suit: Those suckers reach all the way down and are more sharp than before. Metroid suit: THIS GIRL IS ABOUT TO MURDER YOU!

I know Skyward Sword is a pretty controversial title, but I still think it has one of the best stories and probably the most compelling versions of Link and Zelda. It's one of the few games where I feel like Link actually has a personality, and his genuine love and affection for Zelda come through in every scene they share. SS Zelda, as well, is just a delight, and I appreciate that this game takes her on quite the journey of her own. Much of it occurs off-screen of course, but I think it's handled well enough to be coherent and emotionally effective, regardless.

Honestly I love the swordplay and combat in skyward sword because it feels very dynamic compared to previous and past Zelda games. Like yes technically you fight Ghirahim and demise with a sword but the way you fight is dynamic, you can be more defensive, offensive, you can knock the sword out of ghirahims hand, or you can shoot electric beams at demise. The fact you had multiple solutions to fight the bosses and some enemies is one of my favorite things about skyward sword and it’s better than BOTW because items and combat doesn’t feel tedious or redundant. Like it makes sense why you can’t spam arrows at Ghirahim.
